The Big Happy Celebrates Kansas City Software Development & Startups

Entrepreneur and billionaire Steve Case, founder of AOL and founder and current head of Revolution, a venture capital firm, plans to award a lucky Kansas City startup $100,000 during a Big Kansas City popup event, The Big Happy. The event, which is set to happen Oct. 9, 2014, celebrates Kansas City software development companies, tech companies and startups.

Steve Roatch, CEO of Twentyseven Global, said, “We’re extremely excited about The Big Happy. What does it mean for Kansas City? It means Kansas City is big and so is our startup community and software, technology, mobile and health ecosystem. Forget South by Southwest. Think Midwest.”

Events kick off with a fireside chat, after which a group of pre-selected startups will have the opportunity to pitch their company to Case for a chance to receive a $100,000 investment. Directly following the pitches will be be a 5 p.m. happy hour at The Guild hosted by KCnext and KDADC.
