Kansas City Mobile Application and Software Development Firm Reviews Apple’s iOS vs Android

In a blog post earlier this year, I predicted that Apple would continue to lose market share to Android.  Okay that was an easy one.  But even as the Android operating system gains market share, the market for apps still favors Apple’s iOS.  This is intriguing as Android is a much friendlier platform from a developer point of view.  At Twentyseven Global, we’re still being asked to develop on iOS first, then Android second (and rarely Blackberry and never WindowsPhone).  If you’re building or planning to build a mobile app, we’d love to hear from you!  Which platform will be your first?

Is Apple’s Dominance of Mobile Development on the Wane?

Android is shipping more phones than Apple iOS, and Samsung Tops Apple from a Hardware perspective

A report from NPD last week paints what looks like a clear indication that developers should choose Android.   The operating system breakdown looks like this:

Additionally, IDC Published their research last week on worldwide hardware shipments that would seem to confirm that Android is the choice as well, with Samsung establishing a new one quarter record for Smartphone shipments, primarily on Android.
