Twentyseven Global, a Denver custom software development company, wants to congratulate three local Colorado tech startups on being named among the top 10 finalists in the Extreme Tech Challenge. The three Colorado finalists include: Sphero, a robotic toy manufacturer, Kickfurther, an inventory crowdfunding site, and MassRoots, a social network for cannabis users. All 10 finalists will pitch at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this January. From there, three finalists will be chosen to present to Richard Branson, Virgin Group founder, on his private Necker Island in February for investment and mentoring opportunities.

The 10 finalists were chosen among over 1,000 initial Extreme Tech Challenge applicants. Two other Colorado tech startups were among the top 25 released in November, including Boulder-based HobbyDB and Denver-based Revolvar.

Twentyseven Global is an avid supporter of local startups and entrepreneurs. Through Factory 27, it helps startups develop tailor-made software solutions. Earlier this year, Twentyseven Global client, Play-it Health was a finalist in the 1776 Challenge Cup beating out healthcare giants like Cerner and Pipeline. Dr. Kimberly Gandy, founder of Play-it Health, competed with her health tech mobile app, Plan-it Med for a chance at $1 million in startup funding.
