TechWeek and Kansas City software development firm Twentyseven Global share a common goal: To continue to advance startups and the angel investment community in the city. Steve Roatch, founder and CEO of Twentyseven Global, has been a huge advocate for Kansas City’s startup community. He has invested in several local startups, mentored through SparkLabKC and Digital Sandbox and sponsored events at KC Startup Village. He even created a special division at Twentyseven Global called Factory27, to focus on startups.
Roatch said, “It’s great to see our city being recognized by the national tech community and our startups getting more respect. We have been a true believer in the local startup community and have worked hard to help it grow. Factory27 continues to be a very busy division of our company, a testament to our thriving startup scene and to the success of the Factory27 model.”
Factory27, a program offered by Twentyseven Global, provides custom software development solutions for startups at a scale that fits their budget and with flexibility that meets their urgent needs. The program helps startups select the technology they want, design a solution to meet their business opportunity, and build an MVP. Clients who have utilized Factory27 include Front Flip, Winebuys, Bids Made Easy, Play-It Health, Dream Big America and RAZ Mobile.
The idea for the creation of Factory27 came from Roatch’s background as an investor. Roatch saw many startups with innovative ideas struggle to find individuals and teams capable of building the technology they needed at a price point they could afford. Startups are very careful of how they spend their seed capital and have little room for error. Investors appreciate working with a team that has a proven track record. One investor of a Factory27 client remarked, “The risk of delivering the technology just went down by engaging Twentyseven Global.”
Factory27 focuses on entrepreneurs in Kansas City and Denver due to the location of Twentyseven Global offices in those cities. As the team members at each location attend Techweek KC and Denver Startup Week, they will be looking for opportunities to help technology startups launch their product or vision.
