Colorado Tech Summit Returns to Downtown Denver

The annual Colorado Tech Summit, presented by the Colorado Technology Association, kicks off this week in downtown Denver at the newly renovated Denver Marriott Tech Center. This year, the focus of the summit is “stay ahead of the curve”. For tech entrepreneurs, this means keeping up with the latest trends and innovations in this ever-changing and evolving industry.

According to Confluence Denver, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper will start off one of the first sessions on Wednesday, Oct. 19th by addressing  the current state of cybersecurity and what Colorado’s future in the cybersecurity industry looks like. Other notable speakers at this session include Secretary of Technology and CIO of the Colorado Governor’s Office of Information Technology Suma Nallapati, CEO of the National Cybersecurity Center Ed Rios and Chief Security Officer of CenturyLink Dave Mahon.

After a lunch break, five teams from Colorado high schools will present recent STEM technology projects and share breakthrough moments, key takeaways and discuss real-world solutions to the emerging challenges in modern technology. Another session will focus on smart city technology and how businesses and governments can boost efficiency and make sure smart cities are also safe cities. At the same time, there will also be sessions on cultivating valuable tech talent and how technology is taking analytics to the next level.

To wrap things up, the day will end with a panel discussion about keeping Colorado competitive in the tech industry. Notable panel speakers include CEO of the Denver-based software development school Galvanize Jim Deters, CEO of PopIn and author Hayes Drumwright and many more.
