Kicking off this week in downtown Denver, the fifth annual Denver Startup Week is a summit for entrepreneurial innovation. According to the Denver Business Journal, the week will feature mixers, panel discussions, pitch nights and breakout sessions. Startups from the realms of tech, design, DIY-making, marketing and leadership will all be present from the Denver area.

The week starts off at what event-goers are calling “basecamp” at 1515 Arapahoe Street on the 16th Street Mall. At basecamp, you’ll find panelists and keynote speakers, fellow entrepreneurs, complimentary happy hours and other special events. On Monday, there will be a launching party with restaurants, breweries, distilleries and more. Basecamp will also have free coffee and complimentary snacks each day.

According to Channel 9 News, one of the startups featured at Denver Startup Week will be Snooze, a popular innovative breakfast restaurant with several locations across Denver. A part of the “food tech” industry, one of the founders of the company will be hosting a panel discussion called “The Sleeper Scene, Food at its Finest.”

This year’s event will also feature something new: The Denver Startup Week Challenge. Companies will make a pitch and two finalists from each realm of startups will make a final pitch on September 15, 2016, at software coding school Galvanize. To keep things interesting, the organizers are not revealing the prize for the winner of the challenge. However, they say it will be the largest community built prize in Denver Startup Week history.
