Cloud Security Engineer III– Kansas City or Denver Metro Areas

As a Cloud Security Engineer III, you’ll play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the security, integrity, and availability of our clients’ data and applications while adhering to industry best practices and compliance standards. You will collaborate closely with existing architects, engineers, as well as internal and external stakeholders to provide expert guidance and support in all aspects of cloud security.

 

Your role:

  • Provide expert-level Cloud Security consulting, advice, and guidance including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) initiatives, projects, plans, and reviews with a specialized focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
  • Develop and implement cloud security strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard critical data and systems hosted in cloud environments.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
  • Design and implement security controls, monitoring systems, and incident response processes to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Provide guidance and support to DevOps teams in securely configuring and deploying cloud services and resources.
  • Stay up to date with the latest cloud security trends, vulnerabilities, and industry standards to proactively identify potential risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct security awareness training and knowledge sharing sessions to educate team members on cloud security best practices.
  • Participate in client meetings and provide expert advice on cloud security matters, addressing their concerns and requirements.

 

What you bring:

  • BA/BS/Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in Cloud Security Engineering, preferably in a consulting services company
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Expert knowledge of cloud platforms AWS, Azure, including their security features and services
  • Experience designing and implementing security controls and solutions for cloud environments
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, etc., and their implications for cloud security
  • Hands-on experience with security assessment tools and techniques, vulnerability management, and security incident response
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to context switch and work on a variety of projects over specified periods of time
  • Flexibility to occasionally travel to client sites may be required, typically 1 week per quarter or less
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship and the ability to prove eligibility at the time of hire

For Colorado applicants

The expected starting salary range for this position in Colorado is between $150,000 to $170,000. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. The position is also eligible for quarterly incentive compensation
