AWS Cloud Engineer I – Kansas City or Denver Metro Areas

We’re looking for an AWS Cloud Engineer I to join us in our Leawood, KS or Denver, CO offices. As an AWS Cloud Engineer, you’ll help our clients modernize their IT infrastructure and help them pursue next-generation cloud innovation. To continue this transformation, you’ll build and maintain custom software features and functions, databases and applications. The ideal candidate will have a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications and experience in the design, development, and implementation of large-scale projects in the cloud.

 

Your role:

  • Work with the AWS Cloud Engineering Lead to design, build, and manage cloud infrastructure using automated processes (infrastructure as code).
  • Analyze, design, and build CI/CD pipelines.
  • Analyze current difficulties and provide solutions to complex issues.
  • Implement access and security controls, including security groups, profiles, permissions, and key management strategy.
  • Work alongside architecture and engineering teams to design and implement any scalable software services.
  • Design data storage solutions.
  • Recommend process and architecture improvements.
  • Design and implement secure network solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Maintain and expand on existing automated deployment scripts, reporting, and remediation tools.
  • Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
  • Perform system audits of client environments.
  • Advise the customer to support the implementation of suggested and recommended activities.

  • Stay current with the latest AWS technologies, services, features, and best practices through continuous learning, training, and certifications.

 

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in computer science, information technology, or mathematics
  • 1+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions in AWS
  • Experience with automation/configuration management tools such as Terraform, Puppet, and Chef.
  • Experience with containers, microservice architectures and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Proficiency in script development and scripting languages
  • Experience working with API and ETL endpoints (e.g. REST, SOAP, XML,JSON)
  • Experience with automation and deployment templates for relational and nosql databases such as MSSQL, MySQL, PostGreSQL, MongoDB.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD (Github Actions, Azure Devops, GitLapCI).
  • Able to work in both Linux and Windows based environments
  • Located in the Kansas City or Denver metro areas with the willingness to work in the office full-time for the first 90 days and then move to a hybrid flexible after
  • Flexibility to occasionally travel to client sites may be required, typically 1 week per quarter or less
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States and the ability to prove eligibility at the time of hire

For Colorado applicants

The expected starting salary range for this position in Colorado is between $100,000 and $120,000. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. The position is also eligible for quarterly incentive compensation.
