Site Reliability Engineer III – Kansas City or Denver Metro Areas

We’re looking for a Site Reliability Engineer III to join us in our Leawood, KS or Denver, CO locations. As a Site Reliability Engineer III you’ll be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of a variety of software systems and infrastructure. You’ll collaborate closely with development, operations, and other cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage scalable and resilient systems.

Your role:

Analyzes, programs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based or Internet-related computer programs
Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance
Ability to lead a team with little guidance
Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems
Contributes to specific objectives and outcomes as directed
Install and configure monitoring and logging tools and set up client dashboards
Coordinate target install environments across several clients
Perform system audits of various client environments
Coordinate test and production environment support across projects
Create Release and Deployment Plans for monitoring solutions
Provide production on call support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
Provide installation and patching support
Ability to help envision the future of the SRE offering at 27Global
Develop and push automated solutions
Maintain high processing environment uptime
Collaborate with Architecture and Development teams to implement highly available solutions
Maintain and expand on existing automated deployment scripts, reporting, and remediation tools

What you bring:

5-7 years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar role
A background in patching and vulnerability management utilizing code management techniques
Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt Stack, or Terraform
Experience with Ci/CD tools (GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps)
Able to work in both Linux and Windows-based environments and associated code frameworks (e.g., .NET)
Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (Azure)
Experience with containers and microservice architectures and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with Application level monitoring (APM)
Experience with System level monitoring (Zabbix, New Relic One, Prometheus)
Knowledge of source code management and continuous integration tools
Understanding of scripting languages (bash, PHP, NodeJS, Python, Perl and/or Ruby)
Work well under pressure and thrive in a demanding environment
Experience in developing new deployment pipelines and processes from scratch
Located in the Kansas City or Denver metro areas with the willingness to work in the office full-time for the first 90 days and then move to a hybrid flexible model after
Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship and ability to prove eligibility at the time of hire

Azure certifications (Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Security Engineer)
Prior experience with highly available and fault tolerant production architectures in the cloud
Experience with automation and deployment templates for relational and nosql databases such as MSSQL, MySQL, PostGreSQL, MongoDB
Experience with hardening to meet security standards
Worked with products that have compliance requirements
Ability to quickly learn new technologies

For Colorado applicants

The expected starting salary range for this position in Colorado is between $115,000 to $130,000. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. The position is also eligible for quarterly incentive compensation.
